You must provide a valid email address in order to sign up for an Account on the Site. In addition, you need to provide us with your full name, gender, and current city. In addition, you might provide other optional personal information. You may provide this information directly to us or you may chose to register using your Facebook account in which case you would authorize us to access certain Facebook profile information including, but not limited to, your first name, last name, gender, birth date and email address. You may also choose to post content (such as reviews, ratings, or reservations) that may be shared with others through our Site or through your Facebook account. However, if you don't provide certain information, you will not be able to use some of the services we offer.

When you sign up for a RezGuru account you are opted-in to receiving emails from RezGuru by default. Note that you cannot opt out of receiving required administrative or legal notices. You will be given 5 minutes to make the missed call from your mobile number, failing which your reservation will not be processed. • Public Content

Your reviews, ratings, photos, check-ins, message board posts, bookmarks, friends, lists, compliments, account profile (excluding your first name, last name, and other account registration information), and other content you post to the Site are meant for public consumption. We may display this content on the Site, and further distribute it to a wider audience through third party sites and services.

  • Contacts

You can invite your friends to join the Site by providing their contact information, or by allowing us to use your address book from your computer, mobile device, or other sites. If you invite a friend to join and connect with you on the Site, we may use and store your friends' contact information long enough to process your requests.

If you exchange messages with others through the Site, we may store these messages in order to deliver them and allow you to manage them. If you send information from the Site to your phone via SMS text message, we may log your phone number, phone carrier, and the date and time that the message was processed. Carriers may charge recipients for texts that they receive.

  • What information is accessible to Restaurants

When you make a restaurant reservation using the RezGuru websites, your first name, last name and mobile number are provided to that restaurant, just as would occur if you were making a reservation over the phone. Your email address is not provided to that restaurant unless you specifically indicate that you are interested in receiving emails from that restaurant. You also have the option of providing special preferences or comments regarding your reservation, which RezGuru will pass on to that restaurant.

RezGuru will only share the information specified above with the restaurant at which you have made reservations using the RezGuru websites. Restaurants dont have specific information pertaining to diners or dining histories from other restaurants, with the exception that restaurants under the same corporate ownership may elect to share diner information between restaurant properties. Additionally, RezGuru will share the aggregated trends of diners like no-show probability, age group, and etc. Restaurants may receive summary reports of reviews from recent diners. If you provide reviews or ratings about a Restaurant on the Site, it will be shared with that Restaurant.

  • Email from RezGuru

RezGuru sends automated service messages pertaining to upcoming or recent restaurant reservations, such as confirmations, reminders, and/or invitations to provide User reviews. You cannot unsubscribe from these messages as they are transactional messages.

Where you have consented to receive marketing communications from RezGuru, you may from time to time receive communications relating to special offers and/or RezGuru Restaurant recommendations. You may unsubscribe from the RezGuru email list at any time by following the directions provided in the email communications or by replying to the marketing communications with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.

  • Email from restaurants

You may also consent to receive marketing communications from the restaurant at which you've made a reservation. RezGuru plays no role in the content, frequency, timing or unsubscription process of any restaurant's marketing communications. If you would like to unsubscribe from a Restaurant's marketing communications, please contact the appropriate Restaurant directly.

  • Location data

RezGuru websites may collect and store information about your location if you enable your computer or mobile device to send us location information. You may be able to change the settings on your computer or mobile device to prevent it from providing us with such information.

  • Social Media

You can choose to access certain third party social media web sites and services through the RezGuru websites. When you do so, you are sharing information with those sites, and the information you share will be governed by their privacy policies. You can modify your privacy settings with those third parties directly. RezGuru does not control the privacy policies of such third parties and assumes no responsibility or liability for the actions of such third parties.

How restaurants may use your personal information:

Restaurants in the RezGuru network primarily use User information provided through the RezGuru Websites to secure the desired reservations. Additionally, as noted above, if the User has given permission to a restaurant to send email to that User's address, the restaurant may then contact the User with special announcements or offers. If permission is not given, the User's email address will not be passed on to the restaurant.

RezGuru restaurants want to provide you with the best possible service so that you will visit them again. One way restaurants can distinguish themselves is by recognizing returning diners and recalling their special preferences. For this reason, a restaurant may use its RezGuru System to take note of your special requests, allergies, special occasions or other pertinent information that will help the restaurant serve you better during your next visit. If a restaurant chooses to note your preferences, that information may be typed into its RezGuru System manually just as a restaurant might write a note in reservation book. This data belongs to the restaurant, since it is a product of that restaurant's relationship with you.

RezGuru also creates back-up copies of all information stored on the RezGuru System for that restaurant, to assist in the restoration process in the event of data loss.

For select restaurants and/or holidays, you may be required to provide valid credit card information that will be passed on to and handled by the restaurants individually in order to secure the reservation. Please contact the Restaurant(s) directly for inquiries on how they will manage your credit card information.

The restaurants within RezGuru's network are separate businesses from RezGuru. While RezGuru encourages them to comply with data protection requirements, RezGuru will not be responsible if these restaurants fail to comply with respect to your information. Any complaints or inquiries regarding use of your information by a RezGuru restaurant, or marketing communications from a RezGuru restaurant, should be addressed directly to the restaurant in question.

  • Investigations

  • Pixel tags

We may embed pixel tags (also called web beacons or clear GIFs) on web pages, ads, and emails. These tiny, invisible graphics are used to access cookies and track user activities (such as how many times a page is viewed). Ad companies may use pixel tags to measure the number of ads displayed and their performance (such as how many people clicked on an ad).

  • Mobile Device IDs

If you're using our mobile or other software applications ("Applications"), we may use mobile device IDs (the unique identifier assigned to a device by the manufacturer), instead of cookies, to recognize you. We may do this to store your preferences and track your use of the Applications. Unlike cookies, device IDs cannot be deleted. The Site is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us here. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without parental consent, we take steps to remove such information and terminate the child's account.

  • Security

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet or via mobile device, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

  • Questions

Protecting your privacy is one of our highest priorities. If you have any questions about our Privacy Policy, you may email us.

  • Changes to RezGuru's privacy policy

We may change this Privacy Policy at any time by posting a revised Privacy Policy on this page; such changes will be effective upon posting. Please check back from time to time to review the current version.
